This week, we burn, baby, burn with Gillo Pontecorvo's follow-up to The Battle of Algiers; Burn! (aka Quemada) from 1969. It is another ambitious film tackling colonialism, racism, economic exploitation and the great rum vs. whisky debate. Were we rewarded with another masterpiece by Pontecorvo or did we leave feeling a little burned? Tune in to find out. Join our Facebook group. We'd love to hear from you. 206-350-9002 marriedwithclickers@gmail.com |

It's that time of the year, and one of our favourite episodes to record. We run through our lists of the top 10 older movies we discovered for the first time in 2013. Our lists are a bit all over the place, but that's half the fun isn't it? We also run through a few lists provided by listeners - which have provided us with a lot of films to add to our 'To Watch' piles. We have to give thanks to our good pal Rupert of the Rupert Pupkin Speaks blog, which served as the inspiration for these annual episodes. After a prolonged break over the holidays, we have returned for a super-sized 150th episode. We celebrate 3 years of the show with a triple feature of films starring the late, great Peter O'Toole: The Lion in Winter, My Favorite Year and How to Steal a Million. We also chat about Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Stoker, Quantum of Solace, The World's End, Drug War and maybe a couple of other things.
